Chicago 10-11 April
The two-day seminar in Chicago was a complete success. The
audience consisted of doctors, physical therapists and
massage therapists. (Click the image at left for a larger view)
We had an exciting theoretical
discussion and hands on training. What I personally liked
about this seminar is free exchange of opinions and
professional experiences. Everyone in the room enriched each
other and we finished our meeting 2-3 hours later than what was planned at the beginning.
- Dr. Ross Turchaninov
These are several opinions and follow-ups from the audience:
The course was spectacular, got to the origin of problems
and gave me excellent explanation of medical massage
treatment.
- C. Kulaga, PT
This seminar answered so many questions and arranged
information about medical massage treatment in perfect
order.
- Dr. W. Wellspring, ND
Dear Dr. Ross, Finally, I’ve found a few moments to drop
you my sincere thanks for your wonderful seminar. I was able
to utilize information from the charts and books for the
sacro-iliac and gluteal areas on my patient with “locked”
peroneus longus muscle. When he got off the table, his limp
of 23+ years was almost gone completely. He thanks you and I
thank you. Keep up your marvelous work. We all await your
next book!
- C. Zack, CMT
Excellent seminar. Very informative, both from
theoretical and practical application points. Especially
segmental consideration of innervation and reflex zones
formation.
- M. Ivy, CMT
The best seminar from about 10 that I attended!
- D. Snarski, CMT
Denver, July 24-25
The seminar in Denver was very successful. The audience showed great interest
in the medical aspects of massage therapy. During the last few years I have seen
tremendous increase in the professional thirst for this type of information. An
example of this was the cross section of the audience. While the majority of the
audience was from Colorado, there were also massage and physical therapists from
Washington, Utah, Connecticut, Nevada that traveled specifically to participate
in the seminar. I was really touched by such commitment. I am sure that everyone
who participated in seminar obtained a great deal of completely new and useful
information to take back with them.
- Ross Turchaninov, MD
These are some opinions from the audience about Segment-Reflex Massage
Seminar:
Amazing amount and quality of information! This information needs to be
disseminated throughout the massage community (and medical community). Thank you
for taking on the task! I hope I can use it fully!
- C. Schik, CMT
The medical massage approach is so well documented. The seminar emphasized
the integration of somatic systems in the fresh new way. Loads of useful
information. I know it will have lasting effects where other methods lack. Very excellent learning experience.
- M. F. Tidwell, PT
Great information! It's wonderful to have a M.D. be "up" on this
therapy! We need more of these in the USA! I've been craving this information
and can't find it until now!
- D. Meeks, LMT
Excellent workshop! I really appreciate your knowledge and ability to explain
even more difficult theoretical aspects. I would encourage therapists to tell
MD's about your books and seminars. I really appreciated the scientific study references which I will share with skeptics.
Thank you!
- C. Frazer, CMT
I loved the visceral part on the last day. It will add the visceral work I
already do. Please send me information as soon as your next textbook about
visceral massage therapy come out.
- N. Duffy, LMT
Dallas, September 28-30 2001
The seminar in Dallas was another story story of mutual enrichment and productive exchange of techniques, approaches and opinions about medical benefits of massage therapy. I always recognized the importance of proper medical massage education in massage schools. Dr. S Mansoori, Ph.D. president of the Sterling Massage School has the same vision. Such similar approaches allowed us to combine our efforts and prepare the Segment-Reflex Massage Seminar for the students of Sterling Massage School and for the massage practitioners in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. To productively discuss medical massage therapy we added one more day to the seminar program. It allowed students to have understanding of practical application of medical massage methods.
- Ross Turchaninov, MD
These are some opinions from the audience:
The class was fantastic and very informative. I like the way Dr. Turchaniniv went from the basic aspects of medical massage and built his way up. It was wonderful! Thank you!
- A. Saenz, RMT
Very knowledgeable - excellent communicator - great personality. I knew I was in the presence of a MASTER. Thank you for your valuable time and expertise!
- J. Malmgren, RMT, NCMBT
Dr. Turchaninov is very patient with students. Very knowledgeable. I wish we in the USA will acknowledge these incredible techniques and use them.
- P. Thomas, RMT
The information and Dr. Turchaninov's presentation were excellent and extremely needed and appreciated. It's a must do for any serious massage practitoners
-J.J. Kennedy, RMT
It was an excellent course. I look forward to implementing what I have learned and I will look forward to Dr. Turchaninov's new textbook.
- J. King, RMT, NCMBT
Las Vegas, October 20-21 2001
SRM seminar in Las Vegas was sponsored by Dahan Institute of Massage Studies. This school maintains very high standarts of massage therapy education. Serge Dahan created a beautiful facility and developed a very modern curriculum.
This combination made the Dahan Institute of Massage Studies one of the most popular massage schools in Nevada. The president of the school sees further progress of Dahan Institute, in making medical massage curriculum available for the students and massage practitioners. This is why the school's instructors were a large part of audience, and we also discussed medical massage from educational point of view.
- Ross Turchaninov, MD
These are some opinions from audience:
Outstanding seminar! Very knowledgable and cleared up many questions especially practical application of various techniques.
- V. Baum, CMT. Director of Baum Healing Arts School
Great seminar. I was looking for detailed and scientific information about medical massage and pathologies that my clients have. After this seminar I want to study much more about it and become more efficient with my work.
- J. Guinan, LMT, NCTMB
Extremely informative. The pathology and physiology review were quiet helpful. Good slides and illustrations. I am glad the class was split into lecture then hands-on. The flip/flop done inmany classes is distracting. I really liked the presentation and structure of seminar.
- S. Roming, CMT
Dr. Turchaninov is an effective lecturer and has a passion for his material - both of which combined to make this an informative and enjoyable workshop.
- M. Viesselman, CMT, NCTMB
Los Angeles, November 17-18 2001
The local coordinator of the medical massage seminar in Los Angeles, Oleg Buimer, PT, CMT created a perfect educational eviroment. This seminar had great practical results. All participants decided to form professional medical massage club in California and meet monthly to discuss parts of Medical Massage textbook, exchange ideas and technical approaches. This is exact vision I had in mind on how to spread medical massage knowledge among massage practitioners. I greatly appreciate Oleg's expertise, dedication to the profession and his readiness to lead medical massage club in California. For who ever wants to participate in monthly meetings the contact phone number to call is (310) 592-6144.
- Ross Turchaninov, MD
These are some opinions from audience:
Exceptional! One of the best classes I've taken. I hope this class was just the tip of a pyramid effect. I think this type of class should be mandatory.
- D. Bell, CMT
This seminar is both informative and practical. The presentation and material is so well designed that the therapist can instantly put it in use.
- M. Munoz, RN, NCTMB
Very very informative. Fantastic amount of new information. Dr. Turchaninov, wish I could work with you more!
- D. Martin, CMT
The best scientific approach to massage therapy I've taken!
